Jolie Has The Double Crown!

OMG! Jolie has the dreaded double crown, two swirl patterns on her head. Asians believe this signifies a particularly naughty brat. I didn't check Jolie's head earlier because I so *rarely* see these on anyone! Now I'm almost fainting because my firstborn Nadine (of regular single crown signifying placid nature) is already so incredibly naughty...I can't imagine Jolie being worse!

We wanted Nadine's sibling to be someone she can learn from - it's said the best gift you can give a child with Down Syndrome is a sibling - they pick up skills and speech much faster that way. I'm hoping the Asian belief about the double crown is inaccurate, or else it will be triple hell when Nadine starts copying more naughty behaviour from her sister!

Interestingly, Westerners believe the double crown signifies a traveler (ah, will Jolie be like the other Sagittarians I know who are all free-spirited wanderers?). Hairdressers believe the double crown is a styling nightmare - hair tends to stand straight up and is difficult to comb or part neatly. So it's either long locks or the buzz cut. Do you know anyone else who has the double crown?

  4. My daughter has 2 crowns, one in front and one on the top of her head. She's ok, not so naughty but very active. My husband has 2 crowns like your daughter and is very naughty. My next door neighbour's son has 2 crowns and he's v quiet. It's a myth la :)

  6. I don't know about crowns and I guess a gold one would be nice :) Tell your hubby you deserve one!

Was wondering if you'd be resting up this year or will you be doing some CNY preparations? Would love to hear about where or what you get/cook for the CNY feasts and foods if you do.

  7. Ooh so many with double crowns and not all are naughty! There is some hope after all!

Ocha: Hmm, I don't normally cook for CNY as we mostly go back to Malaysia to celebrate with my folks there. My hubby is Eurasian, so we celebrate Xmas at home in Singapore, and then CNY in Malaysia.

Actually I'm quite glad to be spared of the massive CNY cooking dilemma! Even my parents just do a steamboat dinner for convenience!

  14. What a coincidence. My elder one has one crown and the younger one has two also. The older one is more of a handful than the younger sister though. Heh

  15. Wow, Rachel, your second child too? Ah, my kids now take turns to be naughty.

  16. Yes, I have a double crown also. And they join to meet in the middle, so it looks like a horseshoe.

I'd say the mischief thing is probably true, though I regard myself as an eccentric more than anything.

I also have a theory that a double crown suggests that somewhere along the line in gestation, the child was on the point of becoming two people.....

  17. Oh the unmistakable fury of the double crown! Just like my Jolie!

OK, joshing aside, I must say I am sad to see you take offence. I can tell you must have been frustrated and probably hurt many times by what people think of the double crown.

But here's the truth: I'm secretly proud of the fact that Jolie has the double crown and whatever traits it's rumoured to signal. Why else would I be showing it off to everyone online? If you couldn't see through the mock dismay, I'm sorry. Perhaps the genius rumour is not true after all.

Btw, people who have degrees in biochem and going into medicine = geniuses??
