Hubba hubba! Cosy up to your favourite chefs - Emmanuel Stroobant, Bob Blumer and Rachel Allen - with Hubalicious!

Hubalicious is back! StarHub's experiential food and lifestyle event is bringing you on an intimate and immersive epicurean journey with four celebrity chefs from its lifestyle channels. Yes, meet them, chat with them, eat their food - I've been to a few of these in the past two years and they are always delightful! Lots of hands-on interaction and exclusive demos, plus a sumptuous meal.

The Hubalicious Heritage Food Trail this year features food from Aarti Sequeira from Food Network Asia (StarHub TV Channel 433) of Indian heritage, Belgian Emmanuel Stroobant of the Asian Food Channel (StarHub TV Channel 435), Canadian Bob Blumer of TLC (StarHub TV Channel 427) and Irish Rachel Allen of BBC Lifestyle (StarHub TV Channel 432).

They just had Aarti Sequeira on 12 Sept at ONE°15, but you can still catch the remaining three chefs. Here are the details and schedules. So make a date with your favourite chef! Tickets are available from SISTIC. All dinners are from 7pm to 10pm, and come with wine pairing. More info on http://www.starhub.com/hubalicious

Emmanuel Stroobant - 29 September 2012

Mention the restaurant Saint Pierre and food connoisseurs immediately think of fine French dining, divine beverages, artful interiors and esteemed Belgian chef, Emmanuel Stroobant!

Apart from his status as an expert in classical French cuisine, the strikingly stylish Chef Stroobant is also a passionate traveler and frequently draws inspiration from his globe-trotting experiences to create new signature dishes, both at home and at his many restaurants. Having cooked his way through Belgium, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, this award-winning international culinary talent is also the author of popular food and wine pairing cookbook, Vine Dining: White, which won ‘Best in the World’ at the Gourmand World Media Awards.

Bob Blumer - 3 October 2012

Heritage Meets Surreal

Venue: Jewel Box
Ticket price (inclusive of GST): S$138

Culinary adventurer, chef, artist and seven time Guinness World Record holder Bob Blumer is one of today’s most imaginative food personalities. As a chef, Blumer transforms ordinary ingredients into wow-inspiring dishes through simple cooking methods and whimsical presentations that have become his culinary trademark.

Blumer is the creator and host of the television series Surreal Gourmet, and Glutton for Punishment, and a producer and host of the recently debuted World’s Weirdest Restaurants. He is the author of six acclaimed cookbooks. His most recent book Glutton for Pleasure was published in October 2010. Publishers Weekly summed it up: “equal parts memoir, lavish art book, multi-genre soundtrack and culinary tour de force”

Remaining rooted to his Canadian beginnings, Los Angeles-based Bob serves as an Ambassador to Second Harvest in Toronto, spreading the word about food rescue and hunger relief.

Rachel Allen - 6 October 2012

An Irish Love Affair

Venue: Jewel Box
Ticket price (inclusive of GST): S$128

Rachel Allen truly personifies the food experience: she honed her culinary skills growing food, preparing food, cooking food, eating food and, most importantly—Singaporeans will agree here!—enjoying food.

At 18, Rachel left home in Dublin to attend the world-famous Ballymaloe Cookery School.  Today she is affectionately described by the BBC as ‘the Irish cooking queen’. A super busy bee, Rachel is not only a TV chef, best-selling author and a journalist, she is also a mother of three young children. Yet she still finds time to teach the next generation of chefs at Ballymaloe.

Rachel defines Irish food and cooking with the amazing products they have: dairy, meats and meat products, cheeses, fresh fruits like berries and root vegetables like cabbages, potatoes, parsnips and turnips.

-------------------------

There's always some new cooking secret, personal stories from the chefs, and hearty helpings of fun and laughter. I'm certainly going to go for at least one event, so, see you guys there!
