Staycation at The Sentosa Resort & Spa; Plus A Peek at Suites, Villas, and Spa Botanica

UPDATE: The Sentosa Resort is now the Sofitel Sentosa Resort.

The five star Sentosa Resort & Spa (or The Sentosa, for short) is luxury set in one of the most lush and tranquil parts of Singapore. Situated atop a cliff, the 215-room hotel is nestled among tropical woodlands. It is a beautiful complex of landscaped water gardens and elegant low-rise buildings designed by Ed Tuttle. This gives it such a different feel from the rest of the crowded, busy island.

We were very fortunate the hotel arranged a staycation for the family in the Premier Suite (formerly known as the family suite). We also got a peek at the Beaufort Suite, a Garden Villa as well as the award-winning Spa Botanica.

Oh, I have so much to show you!

A beautiful king size bed in the master bedroom of the Premier Suite
This is the master bedroom of the Premier Suite - doesn't the king size bed look so inviting and comfy? There's a business desk there too, useful for catching up on email or doing a spot of work, but really, you won't be in the mood.

View from our Premier Suite
This is the view outside our window. It's so relaxing, especially with the presence of water. The whole resort is situated on 27 acres of lush greenery.

The master bedroom is connected to the other bedroom and living area via the entry walkway
The master bedroom has a TV, of course, and is connected to the adjoining room via the entrance hallway.

Little ones running between the rooms...
Yes, the kids loved running between the rooms! The whole suite is 72 sq m, so there's lots of space to play!

The living area and open plan twin-bedded room
The other room contains the living area and an open plan twin-bedded arrangement. I love the wooden floors, and the brown neutrals in the decor.

Comfy sofas at the Premier Suite
The sofas are comfy. Nadine and Jolie immediately helped themselves!

32-inch LCD TV and living area, plus bathroom entrance
Here's a different TV, and an entrance to the shared bathroom. You get TWG tea, and Nespresso machine too.

The shared bathroom at the Premier Suite
The bathroom is pretty big - bathtub on one side, and separate shower and toilet cubes on the other, with wash basin area in between.

Spa Botanica amenities
Lovely amenities from Spa Botanica, naturally.

The walk-in wardrobe at the Premier Suite
At the other end of the room, is an awesome walk-in wardrobe! I think it's bigger than both my bathrooms at home combined!

They even have children-sized bedroom slippers!
It's so thoughtful that they have children-sized bedroom slippers for the little ones too!

Oh my, someone has made herself comfortable...by pushing excess to the floor
Ah bedtime. Nadine may be small, but she can fling heavy excess pillows off the bed when she wants to.

OK, let's take a look at the resort grounds.

A lovely tree next to The Pavilion
As mentioned earlier...there's lots of landscaped gardens and water features. This is the side view of the Pavilion.

The Sentosa Resort & Spa has lots of water features including lily ponds
At the centre is a huge water lily pond.

Lush water plants abound at The Sentosa Resort
Somehow all the water plants make you feel like you're in a lush paradise.

The Cliff at The Sentosa Resort is one of Singapore's top restaurants
As for dining options, you won't be short at all, and the food in general is good no matter which outlet you go to. The Cliff has made a name for being one of Singapore's top restaurants, serving contemporary cuisine with a show kitchen, water features and certain parts of the split platform overlooking the South China Sea.

The Garden focuses on wholesome and contemporary cuisine

The Pavilion becomes an al fresco bar in the evenings
The Pavilion is a lovely al fresco place, offering English afternoon tea in the day, and transforming into a leisurely bar in the evening.

I love the old school touch from these pillars
I love the old style columns, and the seats that overlook the lily ponds.

The midnight blue swimming pool
This is the resort's midnight blue swimming pool. And right above it (upper right), is The Terrace which is the all-day dining restaurant.

Burp! Breakfast was good
We had breakfast there. You can choose to sit outside, but we prefer the cool air-conditioning inside. It's also closer to the food!

Breakfast buffet at The Terrace
It's a fairly decent spread of Asian and international fare. Live stations for eggs and noodles are available, in addition to DIY salads, Asian porridge, and breakfast pastries.

Peacocks are a signature sighting at the Sentosa Resort & Spa
Don't be surprised if you see peacocks around. These regal birds are one of the signature sights at the resort.

We loved taking photos of the peacocks
We loved taking photos of them, and they seem curious and tame enough to come near us.

And now, let's take a look at the other rooms at The Sentosa.

The elegantly luxurious bedroom in the Beaufort Suite
This is the master bedroom at the very opulent Beaufort Suite, which is a whopping 190 sq m in size! Probably the largest suite I have ever seen anywhere!

The Beaufort Suite has a cosy walk-in dressing area
It features a walk-in dressing area, with double sinks.

The Pharo jet massage whirlpool
Not just any ordinary bathtub, but a Pharo jet massage whirlpool!

The suites at Sentosa Resort have everything
It's got everything - meeting room, plush living room, and a gorgeous office. And kitchen facilities.

There are also Junior and Deluxe suites
There are also Junior and Deluxe suites, with smaller configurations than the Premier suites. And Double Rooms of course, which are basically the master bedroom with a bathroom. You can check out their rooms and floorplans here. The hotel has 174 deluxe rooms and 37 suites.

Yes the Beaufort Suite was grand. But the ultimate place to stay at The Sentosa has got to be their Garden Villas.

The garden villas at Sentosa Resort are awesome
I was so excited to be able to view one! There are four of such exclusive villas.

Beautiful high ceilings give the villa a spaciously airy feel
It truly is magnificent with its high ceilings, romantic lighting and pool view.

Each villa has its own swimming pool and garden
Each villa has its own private swimming pool and garden terrace. The whole villa area is about 300 sq m of space all to yourself!

Luxurious beds, as usual, at the Villas
Beds, nothing short of luxurious, as usual. The seclusion and garden setting makes it so much more romantic. There is a second bedroom flanking the living room.

The villa master bedroom has a Pharo jet massage whirlpool tub!
The master bedroom has a huge designer bathroom, with same Pharo whirlpool. The other bedroom also has a bathroom equally spacious with walk-in dressing area, but has a regular tub.

And then I got a tour of the famous award-winning Spa Botanica.

Spa Botanica is one of Singapore's top luxury spas
As one of Singapore's top luxury spas, Spa Botanica is also one of the first garden destination spas.

Swimming pool at Spa Botanica
This sprawling 6,000 sq m spa haven is built on a heritage site. It's even got its own swimming pool.

Spa Botanica has luxurious outdoor private pavilions
There are six outdoor spa pavilions for you to enjoy your treatments in a private sanctuary (extra S$40++ per person to book). Each one has its own unique spa bath and outdoor shower for you to enjoy.

Vichy Showers in the outdoor pavilions
Oh the Vichy showers, where invigorating sprays of warm water are targeted at high-tension areas of the body. The couple Vichy showers is located in one of the outdoor pavilions.

Lots of little relaxing nooks at the spa
The outdoor spa gardens are pretty unique with the region's first mud pools, meditation labyrinths, a garden teahouse and the best part of all...

Let the waterfall caress you in the float pool as you lie on the float mats
The Float Pool! Oh, how nice to let the cascading waters massage your back as you drift by on one of the float mats.

Spa Botanica's indoor treatment rooms
The indoor treatment complex also houses steam baths, hydrotherapy Vichy showers, couple rooms and suites. The Royal Suite has a special 450kg handmade cast bronze tub that helps retain the treatment heat of a milk, floral or herbal bath. And yes, it can fit two!

The Spa Botanica Suite is the largest one for a romantic couple
The Spa Botanica Suite is the largest couple suite with cosy relaxation area, hydrobath, shower facilities and a spacious outdoor deck. If you are looking for perfect indulgence in a romantic spa escape, this is it.

The Pavilion overlooks lush water ponds
A staycation at The Sentosa really does rejuvenate and make you feel like you've been on holiday somewhere else. Even a Sunday morning brunch or afternoon tea here is bound to be utterly relaxing in such tranquil environments. Check out their various special offers online.

I can't wait to come back again.
