Morton's Fall Menu 2017: Seven New Stunning Dishes

If there's something about Morton's, it's how this steakhouse never fails to delight diners with quality and consistency. Its menu largely remains unchanged (thankfully) but with the seasonal menus introduced in the past couple of years, we have been entreated to some fantastic new dishes that make me wish they were part of the regular menu.

One of my favourite items in the Fall menu is ironically not a steak but the Moules Marinières (S$47++): mussels so tender, plump, juicy and fresh, each mouthful is a kiss of the divine. You'll also find yourself tearing and dunking hunks of the complimentary Onion Loaf into the heady white wine broth.

Beet & Goat Cheese Salad
Beet & Goat Cheese Salad (S$26++) — the tastes of autumn come together perfectly on this plate of nutty and earthy red and golden beetroot, candied walnuts and sharp, salty goat cheese served atop a bed of baby greens tossed in a honey-balsamic vinaigrette.

10z American Wagyu New York Strip
Taking centrestage is this tender 10oz American Wagyu New York Strip (S$138++). The wagyu features highly prized marbling and thus richer flavour. It's not the same flavour profile as the Japanese wagyu but it's discernibly different from your regular steak.

14oz Bone-in Filet Mignon
Also joining Morton’s repertoire of classy steaks is a substantial 14oz Bone-in Filet Mignon (S$138++). You get the tenderness associated with filet mignons tinged with the umami sweetness that proximity to bone enables. I'm not usually fond of filet mignon because it tends to be a little bland but this bone-in version seems a notch above the rest in its class.

Maple Glazed Sweet Potato Fries
Aren't these just glorious? Maple Glazed Sweet Potato Fries (S$24++) celebrate the all-American maple flavour, and are a moreish accompaniment to any Morton’s main. I also adore the insanely addictive Parmesan and Truffle Matchstick Fries (S$24++), which you can see in this post on their spring menu.

Truffle Cauliflower Mash
Want a creamy mash but not the carbs? The Truffle Cauliflower Mash (S$28++) delivers decadent comfort without the guilt. It's so good you might just prefer this over the potato variety.

Morton’s Chocolate Layer Cake
If you still have room, and are a chocolate fiend, you have to go for the new Morton’s Chocolate Layer Cake (S$24++). The towering creation with four layers takes the cake as the ultimate indulgence for any chocolate lover. Share this dessert and you'll halve your calories. Done.
